Even The Waves Obey Him
Saturday, March 9th, 2002I haven’t been at sea when a storm rages high,
But I can almost see the fear in each troubled eye,
As the wind and the waves ripped the sails away
As they thought they wouldn’t be there another day.
Yet the Master slept, no fear in His heart did He know
Unlike His poor followers, great fear they did show,
A small fishing boat tossed in a wild stormy sea
Must have been terrifying for the men of Galilee.
They awoke the Master, He said, “Be not afraid,”
With words, “Peace, be still,” the storm was stayed,
The winds did cease and the waves were quiet and still,
The elements knew Him, so obeyed their master’s will.
The men asked themselves, What manner of man is he
Who the winds and waves obey, saved us from misery,
Perhaps then they began to realize who He was just then
That He would be the Master and Saviour of all men.
