Even The Waves Obey Him

Saturday, March 9th, 2002

I haven’t been at sea when a storm rages high,

But I can almost see the fear in each troubled eye,

As the wind and the waves ripped the sails away

As they thought they wouldn’t be there another day.

Yet the Master slept, no fear in His heart did He know

Unlike His poor followers, great fear they did show,

A small fishing boat tossed in a wild stormy sea

Must have been terrifying for the men of Galilee.

They awoke the Master, He said, “Be not afraid,”

With words, “Peace, be still,” the storm was stayed,

The winds did cease and the waves were quiet and still,

The elements knew Him, so obeyed their master’s will.

The men asked themselves, What manner of man is he

Who the winds and waves obey, saved us from misery,

Perhaps then they began to realize who He was just then

That He would be the Master and Saviour of all men.

Marring the Truth

Thursday, January 17th, 2002
MARRING THE TRUTH
When mists of darkness cloud the mind,
Truth, then can be quite hard to find,
Mist slowing you down, like a foggy day
When it seems impossible to find your way.

Swirling in your mind casting shadows
Across the path where truths light glows,
Marring the way to eternal progression
With doubts and fear and old superstition.

It's not easy to shun those mists far away,
To force them from your mind one day,
Then see the truth shining bright and clear
Showing a path free from pain and fear.

Hold to the truth when you find it out,
Tell others about it free them from doubt,
Let your light shine to show them the way,
Hold onto the truth, stay free every day.

For truth sets you free, free from error,
Free from doubt and unknown terror,
What a gift is truth for us all to find,
So we can leave mists of darkness behind.

Oh Divine Redeemer

Tuesday, January 15th, 2002
OH DIVINE REDEEMER

Oh, dear divine redeemer,
The saviour of my soul,
Help me live my life cleaner,
Keep me in sweet control.

Eyes full of loving kindness,
Gentle hands that heal,
A voice of powerful greatness,
A heart that can know and feel.

Soon all men will know thee
As their Redeemer and King,
Know how thou set them free,
Every voice in praise will sing.

Oh, my dear redeemer divine,
Please be my best friend each day,
Always let my voice gently echo thine,
Keep my feet on the true, narrow way.

He Leadeth Me

Monday, January 14th, 2002
HE LEADETH ME
Just as a good shepherd leads his sheep
into sweet safe pastures to lie,
So Our Lord, if we humbly ask, will lead
us the gentle, quiet waters by.
He will lead us through paths inviting and
	pastures peaceful and green,
Lead us through the ways of righteousness
	where only good is seen.
In our darkest hour when we are tired and
	faint along life's way,
He will gently, kindly lead us ever onward
	to a better, brighter day.
For He is our Good Shepherd, our Master
	and our Eternal Friend,
He will, if we let Him, always be with us
	to the very end.
Then when this life on earth is ended, our
	work on earth done,
We will know the Good Shepherd as a friend,
and the battle we'll have won.
If we let the Lord be our Shepherd and lead
	us gently by the hand,
We will become like Him, for we will start
	to truly understand,
The great plan of salvation and another part
	our Saviour did play,
Put on the earth not only to suffer and die
but show us the right way.

Who am I?

Monday, January 14th, 2002
WHO AM I?
I am a woman, a wife, a mother and grandma,
I am a daughter, a friend to folks near and far,
Who else could I be? Do I need to be more?
Something deep inside me tells me for sure
I belong to a loving Father in heaven above,
A child of heavenly parents filled with love.
Am I child of God? A mere human like me,
Full of faults, sometimes weak as can be,
Yet having a divine spark within my human frame?
Yes! some inner part cries, God knows my name,
I am a daughter of a loving God who truly loves me,
He wants me back, He wants me with Him for eternity.

How Many Names

Wednesday, December 19th, 2001
HOW MANY NAMES
By how many names do I know my dear sweet Saviour?
The list long, titles many, Son of God and my Redeemer,
King of Kings, Jehovah, Christ, Jesus, Prince of Peace,
Whatever we call Him our love for Him should increase.

Saviour and Redeemer, think about what the words mean,
Then dwell on the consequence of Christ had never been,
No freedom from sin stains, always stay dead in the grave,
Life would not be worth living if He had not come to save.

Master, Exemplar, The Good Shepherd and King of Kings,
What wonderful thoughts these names of Jesus brings,
Master of the universe, the way with kindness and power
Showing, teaching, guiding us through life every hour.

Mighty God, our Creator, Great Jehovah worshipped of old,
Created more than we could ever know, His birth foretold,
Son of the Highest, at His birth God His angels did send,
Yet this wonderful, perfect man wants to call me a friend.

The Law of Tithing

Monday, December 17th, 2001
THE LAW OF TITHING
When we live the law of tithing with the right attitude of mind,
There will be no greater blessings of joy that we will ever find,
Always pay it with a true grateful heart to our Father up above,
Be able to give willingly and then feel of God's everlasting love.

Do we really know of the blessings to us so freely given,
Those other than the great prize of the open windows of heaven?
Paying an honest tithe enlists us in Father's army on His side,
Holding high the true gospel banner, our joy unable to hide.

We are touched by the spirit, feel a oneness with God above,
Our faith will strengthen, then know of God's perfect love,
As our testimony grows, our spirituality continually grows
And people will know we are for our God, for it shows.

Pay an honest tithing, and so be always for our King,
Be free from bondage that not paying tithing will bring,
Enter the House of the Lord, let those windows open wide
And the Lord one day in His mercy will let you see inside.

Only Ten Per Cent

Thursday, November 29th, 2001
ONLY TEN PER CENT
When I consider the blessings that come my way,
The good gifts that the Lord gives me every day,
I marvel at His great goodness and His loving care,
And most of all, even for me he's always been there.

Now what does He ask of us, His children here below?
To keep His commandments, love and kindness show,
We are to pay one tenth of our increase while here on earth,
And He will give us more blessings of incredible worth.

Only one tenth, when everything I have is His not mine,
How can I say no to Him and think everything is fine,
A tenth of all I have I'll freely return to my Heavenly king.
I know this is not at all a hard or impossible thing.

If we have the strength to live the great law of tithing now,
When the times comes that Christ returns and every knee bow,
We will be there beside Him, welcoming with wide open arms
And when all hell breaks loose we'll feel the peace that calms.

Just one tenth is all He asked, please remember that today,
Remember the promises that at some time will came our way,
Have the windows of heaven open and shine down on you,
Because all He asks in ten percent, that He is sure you can do.

Good Profit

Tuesday, October 16th, 2001

I have no money for stock and shares,
Yet I have profited well.
I do not know or when I should buy
Or which or what I should sell.
Yet I have profit stored away,
But not in a bank for safety,
But I have stored profit through
Experience that I can use everyday.

As we travel through life many
things we have to do,
Sometimes we make mistakes but
Much experience come through
Those errors we make and so
Profit much in life,
so can help others to avoid, if they
Listen, troubles and strife.

We have many callings, learn to love
People, learn to obey
The prompting’s of the spirit that
Often comes our way.
These experiences build profits
That the world can’t understand,
That of knowing and loving the Saviour,
Feel His loving hand.

Finding ways of helping others as you
Walk along life’s way
Will give the experience that will be
Useful to you one day.
Cast thy bread upon the waters
Jesus said to the crowd,
Giving of yourself always is where
Profits of experience is found.

So although you cannot buy many
Valuable stocks and shares,
Remember experience brings the best
Profit through action and prayer.
So from now on live life so much
Experience to gain,
And you will heap your undiminishing
Profit again and again

In The Garden

Thursday, November 9th, 2000

Did Jesus know what was coming?
Did he know what had to be done?
Know of the agony and suffering
So that victory might be won?

He took friends so as not to be alone,
We cannot imagine the great pain
As He started for us to atone,
Saving all mankind was His aim.

He needed the a comfort of a friend
To help Him in His great sacrifice,
They slept, it hurt, but did not offend,
He knew alone he had to pay the price.

Just try to imagine the weight of sin
Of every human soul that will ever live,
The pain caused Him to bleed from within,
No one else so great a love could give.

The angels came to comfort Him for awhile,
Then he was by himself, so all alone,
He was used to seeing His Father’s smile,
The pain of loneliness He must have known.

But at last that sacrifice was complete,
That compassionate need finally done,
Another hurt, betrayed by a kiss so sweet,
All this so our souls maybe one day won.

Look, the Master humbly kneeling there
In agony, this cup He could not pass by,
He drank deeply, suffering we can’t compare,
The Master of ocean and sea and sky.

He suffered for me in Gethsemane,
Alone and forsaken by all He knew,
Suffered long till each extremity
Bled, agony not known by me and you.

So love the Lord with all thy might,
For He suffered in great agony of pain
So we may be forgiven and win the fight
And live with God and in glory reign.
